We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technology delivery.
In this role, you will analyze complex systems, guide development teams, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. With a strong focus on data projects and regulatory compliance, you will contribute to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, Agile-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Apply Agile Project Management principles during project execution
- Translate Business Requirements Documents into actionable technology requirements for backend and frontend development
- Perform system architecture gap analysis to define realistic timelines for tasks outlined in Business Requirements Documents
- Create comprehensive documentation to support tasks, present findings, and inform stakeholders
- Prepare Epics and Stories collaboratively with Product Owners and Subject Matter Expert Business Analysts for technical team evaluation and delivery
- Facilitate grooming sessions with development teams to clarify business logic for upcoming sprints and Jira tickets
- Maintain accuracy and workflow status of JIRA Epics and Stories
- Conduct walkthroughs and workshops with the business to finalize detailed requirements and acceptance criteria
- Assist in planning and hosting end-of-sprint reviews with business stakeholders
- Coordinate with test teams, providing documentation and helping define additional regression and use cases as needed
- Ensure all processes deployed in production environments are documented and version-controlled, with updates made to Confluence pages
Requirements
- 3–5 years of Business Analysis experience within an IT organization or division
- Knowledge of data flow and ETL tools, such as Matillion or similar tools like Informatica
- Proficiency in SQL to query the data warehouse, identifying existing structures and required changes
- Background in data projects, data business analysis, data mapping, and big data
- Expertise in understanding data structures, data types, and their interrelations
- Understanding of UK and European trade reporting regulations
- Skills in software development methodologies
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems focused on controls, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, data reconciliations, and exception handling
- Competency in using SQL for data analysis and querying
- Background in financial services and familiarity with financial and market data
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Collaborative team player with effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues constructively
- Self-reliant and highly focused on project delivery
Nice to have
- A background in financial or exchange systems is advantageous, though not essential, as most tasks focus on upstream system adjustments impacting the data warehouse rather than the analysis of new business needs
