Partner with the best

As a Senior Commodity Manager, you will develop a team of commodity leaders and sourcing quality engineers. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders to build the Central Eastern Europe Sourcing Strategy. You will shape commodity strategies, achieve deflation targets; manage supply risk and relationships with strategic suppliers.

As a Global Commodity Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing suppliers and products in the region to support the Product Company (PC) strategy
  • Acting as point of contact across all of the PC's in CEE, maintaining smooth communications, supporting of the P&L on sourcing strategy and reporting needs
  • Supporting the business planning cycles by translating the sourcing strategy into financial forecasts: Planning sessions including mid-term planning (MRP), multi-year planning (GSP), monthly operations reviews, etc.
  • Managing supplier contracts, supply agreements, and e-auctions with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned
  • Monitoring, forecasting, and developing strategies to capitalize on macroeconomic and industry trends impacting the assigned commodity and business to minimize total material costs, ensure material availability, capacity, and quality
  • Leading the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management
  • Defining and driving use of preferred suppliers plus develop alternate sources to reduce single and sole sources
  • Interacting with site teams (Baker Hughes factories) to understand business needs and develop supply chain strategies that optimize total requirements
  • Collaborating with supporting resources (engineering, quality, global supply chain, and regional teams) to achieve plan
  • Participating in Baker Hughes HQ sourcing initiatives to leverage best practices: partner with Enterprise Excellence commodity leaders, sourcing leaders, and peers to maximize synergies and global suppliers

    To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have completed Bachelor studies in business or a technical field with relevant experience in Commodity Management
  • Have experience and industry knowledge within the assigned commodities (precision machining, fabrications, and high temperature alloys preferred)
  • Demonstrate supply chain experience with understanding of Rotating Equipment, Oil Field components and of the technical requirements related to sourcing and commodities that drive strategy in these products.
  • Show expertise and extensive experience in people management with proven leadership skills in a matrix organization
  • Have excellent negotiation skills, contracting expertise, and business law knowledge
  • Have strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Be a proactive self-starter and change agent
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, departments, and functions
  • Have proven project management and process improvement skills
  • Be able to perform scenario analysis and strategy development
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and business acumen
  • Demonstrate financial acumen and ability to perform cost assessments and analysis
