What you'll own as the Cloud Engineer Specialist
You will be responsible for implementing and expanding the Cloud estate within the programme with a focus on compute, networking, storage, observability, reliability and security.
You will be responsible for building, implementing and maintaining repeatable deployment processes for all environments and tooling within the Cloud, specifically, AWS.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and policy of the internal Worldpay security teams.
You will need to work closely with other value streams to identify areas of improvement, where cloud technology can be used to solve complex problems.
You will develop process improvements as they relate to the AWS current and future estate.
What you'll bring
Solid hands-on experience with the following AWS technologies: VPC, EC2, ELB, Auto-Scaling (including Groups), S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Route53, Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation, SQS, MSK, DynamoDB, IAM.
Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, GitOps principles and fundamentals, especially around building infrastructure in the Cloud, as relating to AWS, whilst using Terraform, TFE and/or CloudFormation.
Strong experience in Kafka:
- provisioning and managing MSK clusters as IaC; understanding of topics, partitions, connectors, replicators, topic security; performance and capacity planning.
- familiarity with the Strimzi Operator suite (User/Topic Operators) and Confluent Schema Registry is a strong plus.
- Other messaging middleware experience is a plusSolid experience with Jenkins CI/CD and the utilisation of shared libraries to build pipelines as code.
Strong experience scripting in Python, Go or Bash.
Good hands-on experience with Linux operating systems like: Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.
Good experience with No SQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra.
Optional experience with Jenkins CI/CD and the utilization of shared libraries to build pipelines as code.
