The Opportunity
OpenText ESM SaaS is an analytics-driven enterprise service management solution that combines these key application areas: IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Universal Discovery and CMDB, Cloud Management, and Operations Orchestration.
This is a unique customer-oriented engineering position where you’ll own technical customer engagements and you’ll have the opportunities to work with, influence, and lead a worldwide team to develop high-standard, high-performance enterprise software.
You will be handling incoming incidents from the support organization, and requests from product management. You will also work closely with product owners, scrum masters, escalation mangers, cloud engineers and customers.
We are open to hiring both junior and senior engineers to this role. You don’t have to match all the requirements and training will be offered.
What the role offers
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose functional and performance issues that could involve networking, cloud services, application logic
- Develop patches for customer encountered defects and enhancements
- Develop utilities that improve the supportability of the product
- Evaluate support submissions and guide support engineers to improve their product and troubleshooting knowledge
- Write knowledge articles and internal wiki pages to document known issues and best practices
- Manage a dynamic backlog and help prioritize work for SCRUM teams working with PM
- Qualify Enhancement Requests and help prioritize them with Product Management
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- At east 2 years of experience in a software R&D organization, customer facing experience is a plu
- Software development experience in Java, C++, Python (or other scripting languages)
- Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly document defects and other product/tasks information
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with AWS (or GCP)
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
- Familiarity with computer networking
- Knowledge of RDBMS (preferably PostgreSQL)
