The Opportunity
At OpenText, we are looking for a motivated, highly passionate Java team leader for our development teams with both technical and leadership and coordination skills. The candidate must have the experience, talent, skill set, and confidence to work with a world-class development team at the OpenText office in Cluj, Romania.
What the role offers
- As a Java Team Lead/ Delivery Manager you will be leading a group of engineers working on our enterprise software product, Universal Discovery a scalable and robust Java-based application.
- Your responsibilities combine technical and management roles as follows: manage up to 15 engineers (2 scrum teams) as delivery and people manager ensuring adherence to best practices, getting involved into software development activities, as Java lead engineer.
- The latter does not mean necessarily coding on daily basis but requires strong knowledge of Java reflected in code reviews, technical solutions, technical guidance/ mentoring, understanding and troubleshooting issues, interacting with end users, etc.
- Besides that, you will ensure project is delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality and you will be facilitating collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- You will be part of a dynamic group of engineers who enjoy working together and have the right balance between worktime and private life. Our program is hybrid, with 3 days/week at the office.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor in a relevant field of study (Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecom).
- Proven working experience with Java
- Proven working experience as Team Lead or Engineering/Delivery Manager
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (fluent English is a must)
- Experience working with Agile/ Scrum
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude
Additional skills are a plus
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of SAFe
- Knowledge of Test automation frameworks
- Knowledge of SQL, Linux, Networking
