We’re looking for an experienced IIoT Engineer to help shape and operate our next‑generation Industrial IoT platform. If you’re passionate about Kubernetes, cloud architecture, automation, and industrial connectivity, this role puts you at the heart of Miele’s digital transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership of the design, development, and operation of a scalable and secure Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform on a hyperscaler environment (e.g. Microsoft Azure)
- Define and evolve platform architecture standards, including Kubernetes-based container platforms and cloud-native best practices
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Kubernetes (K8s) environments and its ecosystem
- Design and operate automation, CI/CD, and GitOps pipelines for platform and application deployment
- Architect and implement event-driven and data-driven solutions using ex.Kafka etc.
- Ensure high availability, security, and observability of the platform
- Drive professional software development and experience with Java and Python
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (IT, OT, security)
- Support the integration of OT interfaces and industrial systems into the IIoT platform landscape
Skills:
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in IIoT platform engineering in combination with a hyperscaler, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration, including Helm, Linux, and GitOps tools such as FluxCD
- Solid understanding of platform security concepts, certificate management, and security tooling; certifications such as Aqua Security or HashiCorp are a plus
- Advanced programming skills in Java and Python, including test-driven development; experience with PyCharm is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of messaging, streaming, and data platforms (Kafka, Event Grid, MQTT, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB)
- Strong background in platform architecture, networking, and firewall design
- Experience with OT interfaces and industrial environments is highly desirable
- Very Good English Skills (German skills is nice to have)
