What you'll own as the Java Software Engineer Specialist/ Java Tech Lead
You will be responsible for implementing and expanding the Cloud estate within the programme with a focus on compute, networking, storage, observability, reliability and security.
You will be responsible for building, implementing and maintaining, infrastructure as code and tooling with the Cloud
You will create cloud environments and data strategy ensuring interaction with on premise (where applicable), data replication and create CI/CD for faster delivery
You will strive to make our cloud offering as self service, empowering the engineering community to own their infrastructure and software and enable reuse
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and policy of the internal security teams.
You will need to work closely with our software engineers bringing them on the cloud journey with a guiding hand
What you'll bring
Experience of building enterprise grade applications on AWS
Knowledge of Functional programming in Java and Data Structures
Solid hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services, specifically: IAM, EMR Serverless, Fargate, S3 and CloudWatch
Experience of building applications with embedded CI/CD to ensure frequent and reliable software delivery
Strong understanding around CI/CD practices, principles and fundamentals. i.e. Infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Excellent communication skills and a desire to impart knowledge
It’s a bonus if you have
Experience with Spark, Python
Experience with VPC, EC2 ELB, Auto-Scaling (including Groups), Route53, Lambda, ECS, CloudFormation and DynamoDB are nice to have
