Adecco is looking for one of its clients, a leading digital platform for services and payments, an Senior Accountant, based in Bucharest.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in financial accounting
- Previous experience in end-to-end Romanian accounting
- Experience in IT / digital / retail / accounting consulting companies – advantage
- Experience with external audits – advantage
- English: intermediate level
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial accounting
- VAT (including EU transactions)
- Expense reporting
- Trial balance analysis
- Basic knowledge of IFRS (training provided if no prior experience)
- Understanding of corporate income tax (prepared by tax consultant, internally reviewed)
- Experience with financial systems / ERP
- Good Excel skills (pivot tables – practical test)

Key Activities:
- Coordinating and supervising daily accounting activities together with a small team
- (1 Senior Accountant and 1 Controller)
- Reviewing and validating accounting entries
- Ensuring the accuracy of the trial balance and identifying discrepancies
- Verifying tax treatment for EU invoices (VAT applicable / non-applicable)
- Collaborating with the external payroll provider and recording received documents
- Ongoing collaboration with the tax consultant (VAT, corporate income tax, filings)
- Involvement in group financial reporting (partial P&L)
- Supporting the audit process (Big4 auditor – EY)
- Preparing and/or reviewing statistical and National Bank reporting (quarterly)
- Participating in the budgeting process (on-site presence required)
- Gradual development towards controlling activities
