We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Kubernetes Engineer to take ownership of operating, optimizing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters running in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI/OSC).
- Your primary responsibility will be to ensure high availability and performance for a mission-critical, high-transaction Java application.
- You will work hands-on with Kubernetes, JVM performance tuning, monitoring stacks, and container orchestration best practices.
- You will collaborate closely with development teams to improve microservices architecture, enhance CI/CD workflows (GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCD), and ensure efficient resource management across clusters, nodes, and pods. Observability will be a key focus, using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OCI Monitoring to identify bottlenecks and optimize throughput and latency.
- Security and reliability are essential in this environment, and you will play an important role in ensuring compliance across the cloud landscape.
- You will join an experienced technical team, contribute your expertise to complex performance challenges, and help drive a stable and scalable platform for modern application delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, operate, and optimize Kubernetes clusters in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI/OSC).
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance for a Java-based application handling a very high volume of individual transactions.
- Implement best practices for container orchestration, resource management, and automated deployments.
- Perform performance tuning at cluster, node, and pod levels, including JVM optimization and garbage collection for Java applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot latency, throughput, and system resources using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OCI/OSC Monitoring.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure security and compliance requirements within the OCI/OSC environment.
Requirements:
- Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (cluster architecture, networking, storage, autoscaling).
- Strong experience with OCI (Compute, Networking, Load Balancing, IAM, Container Engine for Kubernetes).
- Performance optimization for Java applications (JVM tuning, thread management, garbage collection).
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Knowledge of CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub , ArgoCD).
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with high-volume transactional systems.
- Solid knowledge of Linux, scripting (Bash, Python), and container technologies.
