Your impact
The Senior Network Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure in OpenText datacenters and cloud environments, especially hyperscaler platforms. You will collaborate with DevOps, cloud architects, and infrastructure teams to create scalable, automated networking solutions. Expertise in Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native network management is crucial for rapid deployment and continuous integration.
Network devices include routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and monitoring tools. The candidate must have extensive experience managing and enhancing resilient business networks in on-prem data centers and cloud environments. The engineer will follow processes and standards, working individually or in teams to implement complex network deployments.
- Provide expert-level network design, understand all aspects and best practices for business network datacenter infrastructure, and cloud network technologies
- Work diligently to meet project and business timelines for network infrastructure design and deployment
- Work to provide the best solutions for connectivity between data centers and clients
What the role offers
- Support routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers for Network Operations
- Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Build scalable, secure networking solutions for on-prem data centers and cloud environments
- Develop Terraform scripts for automating networking resources across cloud platforms
- Use CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI) for pipeline integration and deployment
- Plan and recommend network design improvements
- Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and minimal downtime
- Troubleshoot complex network issues in hybrid environments
- Document network designs, deployments, and configurations
- Establish and enforce networking best practices and standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business goals
- Stay updated on cloud networking and automation technologies
What you need to succeed
Education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years' experience with various network devices
Minimum 5 years' experience in Network Engineering
Minimum 3+ years' experience with software-defined network technologies (VMWare NSX, Juniper, Cisco)
Minimum 3 years' recent experience in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Proficient with routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Arista, F5, Juniper, Checkpoint)
Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline automation
Experience with cloud-native networking services (AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC, cloud-based DNS)
Proficiency in networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, VPNs, Load Balancers, DNS, firewalls)
Expertise in network infrastructure design, build, and support
Network skills: TCP/IP, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSec VPN), Layer 2/3 switching, VLAN configuration, firewall security policies, spine and leaf architecture
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation (IAC)
Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and related technologies
Experience with containerized networking (Kubernetes, Docker)
