As a Senior Software Developer at OpenText, you will contribute to the development of the Micro Focus Connect, a synchronizes assets like stories and defects across OpenText products (ex. ALM/QC, ValueEdge and Octane) and 3rd parties like Atlassian Jira, Microsoft Azure DevOps and ServiceNow. Your expertise with Java development and Java-based frameworks in multi-tier web applications will help shape new features, working in an agile environment, collaborating with global teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive digital transformation for enterprise customers.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor or above degree in a relevant field of study (Computer Science, Telecom etc.)
- 4+ years of experience with Java development and Java-based frameworks of multi-tier web applications
- Understand and be able to participate in the design for software applications running on multiple platform types
- Understands and share the knowledge on coding, code reviewing, testing and debugging practices across the team
- Work as an individual contributor, but also as an effective, collaborative member of the team in Cluj-Napoca.
- Understand the needs of the customers, including user workflows and tasks and then transform them to product plans.
- Self-starting and self-motivating, pro-active, dynamic, focused on results.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills (fluent English is a must)
- Good understanding and experience working with software development processes
Additional skills are a plus
- Web tier knowledge, Tomcat, Jetty or other web containers
- Knowledge of SQL language and experience in working with DB (PostgreSQL would be big plus)
- Experience with Java Script
- Knowledge of unit test frameworks (Junit, etc)
- Experience in large-scale multi-tier software applications

- React, Ext.JS as UI frameworks
- PostgreSQL, Derby as database engine
- MyBatis as persistent framework
- Jenkins and Gitlab CI as CI tools
- Junit 4 and 5 as unit test platforms
- Jersey Framework for REST API development
