Cloud Infrastructure Engineer are technical leads - setting best practice and standards in engineering. They take ownership of technical considerations in tooling, technology, best practice, development, availability of services, risk and reliability. They may perform their role as a member of a single product team, working across several teams, or in a larger programme of delivery. They are expected to demonstrate a very high level of working knowledge across all the technical activities required to build and maintain working services for the bank. Coaching, mentoring and encouraging the development of best practice across the Engineering role is a fundamental function of the Technical Lead role, working to develop a culture of engineering and technical excellence.


  • Experience with;


  • Design, develop and manage automated deployment, configuration, monitoring, alerting, operability and observability for different types of applications;
  • Identify, craft, and maintain SLIs and SLOs for teams, as well as metrics such as MTTR, Lead time for change, Deployment Frequency and Change Failure Rate.;
  • Ensure each service or platform is meeting performance and availability SLAs;
  • Partner with product owner to manage error budget, prioritise toil backlog and validate against team, application and incident metrics;
  • Coordinate planned new releases, including defining release frequency, coordinating pre-release testing, and coordinating release timing and expectations;
  • Build services, infrastructure, and automation that monitor and address the production health, availability, and reliability services/platforms;
  • Work with architects to implement the baseline technologies, policies and practices to build a high velocity, high security, strong compliance platform;
  • Demonstrate servant leadership of SRE team by spending about 50% of time performing programming tasks;
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for production events or outages;
  • Elaborate and estimate stories, and plan the team’s work;
