This individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing BCDR plans, managing crisis response protocols, and overseeing the management and utilization of key resilience and crisis management tooling, including Riskonnect, International SOS, and Everbridge. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical competence, good communication skills, and a demonstrable ability to manage complex, multi-functional projects.
This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR)
Develop and Maintain Plans: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive IT BCDR and Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring alignment with business impact analysis (BIA) findings, recovery objectives (RTO/RPO), and industry best practices.
Testing and Validation: Design, coordinate, and implement BCDR and DR testing exercises (e.g., tabletop, functional, full-scale failover) across various IT systems and business units. Document results, identify gaps, and track remediation actions to closure.
Risk Assessment: Help identify, assess, and document potential threats and risks to critical IT infrastructure and business processes.
Crisis Management and Incident Response
Protocol Management: Support the development and maintenance of the corporate Crisis Management Framework and IT Incident Response Plan.
Coordination: Act as a key coordinator during actual disruptions or organizational crises, facilitating communication, tracking response activities, and documenting the incident timeline and resolution.
Training: Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees and management on BCDR plans, crisis procedures, and tool usage.
Tool Management and Administration
Riskonnect Administration: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Riskonnect platform (or similar GRC/BCM tool). This includes configuration, user access management, data integrity, reporting, and process workflow optimization.
Mass Notification System (Everbridge): Manage the Everbridge platform (or similar mass notification system), ensuring the accuracy of contact databases, developing and testing notification scenarios, and providing operational support during crisis events.
Travel Risk Management (International SOS): Supervise the integration and utilization of International SOS (or similar travel security/medical assistance provider) tools for tracking employee travel risk and coordinating assistance during global events.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of BCDR and Crisis Management processes, leveraging the capabilities of the resilience tools.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), Enterprise Resilience, or Crisis Management within a complex corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience in leading and documenting BCDR/DR testing cycles (e.g., tabletop exercises, technical recovery testing, failover drills) and managing the associated gap remediation process.
This position requires flexibility, independence, technical knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous situations and has a proven track record of delivering results in specialist or manager-level roles.
Willingness to occasionally work nights and/or weekends during a crisis event.
Tooling and Technical Proficiency
Expert Hands-on Administration and Tool Management experience with at least two of the following core resilience platforms is mandatory:
Riskonnect (or similar BCM): Demonstrable experience configuring modules, managing BIA/Plan data, establishing workflows, generating reports, and administering user access.
Everbridge (or similar Mass Notification System): Deep proficiency in contact database management, scenario creation, template development, system configuration, and real-time operational support during activations.
International SOS (or similar Travel Risk Management/Duty of Care): Experience in system integration, using monitoring features, managing alerts, and leveraging the platform to support travel risk assessments and crisis response.
Solid understanding of core IT infrastructure and cloud recovery concepts, including High Availability (HA), Replication technologies, Recovery Time Objective (RTO), and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) across on-premises, and hybrid cloud (AWS) environments.
