Role description
We are currently looking for a Group Business Continuity Specialist with experience across the Business Continuity lifecycle, BCM activities including conducting business impact analysis and contributing towards building and developing new BCM programs from the ground up. The position will offer a high degree of visibility as we take Business Continuity from theory to practice over the coming 12-18 months.
The position reports into the Group Resilience team, situated within the Global Security & Resilience organisation, and is tasked with building Bookings’ resilience across the organization. As part of the Group Resilience team, encompassing Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management (CM), the Business Continuity Specialist will be vital in translating BC strategy, policy, and planning to our stakeholders across the organisation. You will be instrumental in leveraging the heightened awareness around resiliency to deliver a best-in-class BCM program in a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding environment.
This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Influence leadership and key teams throughout the business to support and invest in BC, ensuring a reliable and working ‘First line’
With direction from senior team members, work with key stakeholders, deliver Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessments, to identify the key risks to operations, mapping critical functions, and prioritizing bespoke BCM roll-out
Function as a point of contact for BCM, creating strong formal and informal networks with cross-functional partners to drive engagement and program viability
Assist in delivering the Global BCM roadmap and contribute to on-going review and improvement of the BCM program
Review and assess Key third party & partner BCM arrangements
Conduct plan development, training, and exercise workshops with business units to raise business continuity awareness and preparedness for crisis or business disruptive events
Support Crisis Management trainings and activations
Ability to be on call is required in this role in support of crisis response when required
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor Degree
3-5 years of experience of working in BCM or similar background with potential to learn quickly
Business Continuity Institute (BCI) or other business continuity professional certification (highly valued)
Highly organized and focused on prioritization, planning, tracking, and coordination across programs with strong attention to detail in a fast-moving, high pressured environment
Must be able to grow and foster strong relationships with employees across functions and geographic locations
Excellent google suite, Microsoft office skills, and ease with adapting to new technology. Experience with BCM software is a plus
Excellent communication skills (oral and written to unique audiences), you must be able to guide and positively influence our stakeholders while building trust and cooperation
