Role description
The goal of the Junior Fraud Analyst is to proactively protect, prevent, detect and respond to fraudulent behavior. The team is responsible for managing security and fraud threats across the business operations globally. Continuous improvement on detection and response capabilities is key. The Junior Fraud Analyst investigates and resolves fraud cases from start to finish, works on projects and objectives aligned with business goals, suggests implementation of relevant fraud controls and process improvements to increase efficiency of processes and involves relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Customer Service, Legal, Technology, Finance) when required.
This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Software development / script coding using SQL or Python or other languages to develop data pipelines, clean data and analyze big data sets
Investigate and resolve cases of potential fraud from start to finish within the specified SLA
Perform assigned detection/monitoring/project tasks with meaningful and actionable observations documented
Escalation of rule and/or process improvement opportunities to the senior analysts and team management and provides regular feedback on tooling and processes towards achievability of KPI/Objective
Works effectively with team members and leadership by communicating fraud trends and sharing ideas and knowledge in a constructive and positive manner
Ability to perform well in a fast paced environment and positively adapt to change
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
1 to 3 years of relevant experience
Basic to Good knowledge of scripting (Python/PySpark/R) and create notebooks for efficient querying
Ability to use SQL, Excel, Visualization tools to translate data to identify business problems/solutions
Experience of working towards targets and hitting KPI’s
Good analytical skills and keen eye to detail
Team player - worked as part of a team before and work well with others
Must have strong decision making ability and be self-disciplined
Ability to quickly adapt to change
Good and effective communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Take ownership and be driven to constantly improve and challenge status quo
Strong sense of ownership and prioritizes to get the important things done today
Experience in Fraud detection and manual investigation is a plus
Experience in the travel industry is a plus
