About the role
As a Lead Full-stack Engineer, you will build and maintain web applications for our Client, a large European public institution, working across the front end, back-end services, the data layer, and their deployment in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Development of front-end website architecture
- Design of user interactions on web pages
- Development of back-end website applications
- Implement core business logic
- Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring
- Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and functionality across different browsers and devices
- Design responsive applications
- Design and develop APIs
- Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
- Maintenance of code integrity and organisation
- Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
- Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
- Perform unit/integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes
- Deliver solutions that fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with user expectations
- Write technical documentation
- Develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies
Requirements
- University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a master’s level or 5 years of higher education), and minimum 15 years of IT professional experience
- Very good knowledge of English or French language, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2
- Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (Angular) and the BFF pattern
- Proficiency in Java, experience with the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring MVC), with Hibernate and Spring Boot
- Experience with JEE and Weblogic deployments
- Knowledge and experience with XML, XSD and XSLT
- Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), including schema design and query optimization
- Experience with Atlassian products (BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira) and GitLab ecosystem GitLab pipelines (GitLab CI/CD), including design, configuration, and optimization of automated build, test, and deployment workflows
- Experience with asynchronous processing using Kafka events
- Experience in designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
