Your impact

 

As Corporate Compliance Counsel, you will play a hands-on and operational role in maintaining and enhancing OpenText’s global compliance framework. You’ll take ownership of critical compliance activities such as anti-bribery, whistleblowing, and human rights ensuring policies, processes and controls are not only well-designed but effectively implemented across the business. In addition to compliance, the role also involves advising on and supporting commercial litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel, you will help manage legal risk and drive practical, business-focused solutions that reinforce OpenText’s culture of integrity and accountability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance-focused legal professional to:

  • Lead and develop key aspects of OpenText’s global compliance programme.
  • Engage in a broad range of work spanning compliance, policy, due diligence, training, and commercial litigation.
  • Play a central role in managing internal investigations and guiding whistleblowing processes.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across jurisdictions and contribute to the business’s legal and ethical strategy.
  • Operate within a supportive and high-performing team with global reach and exposure.

What you need to succeed

 

We’re looking for someone who combines legal expertise with sound judgment, business awareness, and a commitment to doing what’s right. You’ll stand out if you are:

  • A qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption, whistleblowing, modern slavery, human rights, and other corporate compliance areas globally.
  • Experience managing or advising on commercial litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting or overseeing internal investigations.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and communicate compliance policies, training, and risk assessments.
  • Confidence reviewing partner due diligence, customer codes, and compliance-related contractual terms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage credibly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High ethical standards, good judgement, and strong attention to detail.

Foreign language skills are an asset but not essential.

You’ll lead key workstreams across anti-bribery, partner due diligence, whistleblowing, investigations, training, and policy development, while also contributing to commercial litigation support.
