How did the interview go?
I interviewed for a Localisation Specialist role and unfortunately had a poor experience. From the start, the interviewer appeared disinterested, reading through the job description rather than having an actual conversation.
About 15 minutes into the interview, after hearing the compensation details, I explained that the offer (8,000 RON gross per month, which amounts to less than half that net) was far below the level appropriate for the scope of the job - which required advanced skills in translation/localisation, copywriting, and content/project management. I told him we should stop the interview, as the offer simply didn’t align with the expertise they were asking for.
He didn’t seem to care and responded with a “take it or leave it” attitude, showing no real engagement or curiosity about my feedback.
Overall, it came across as a company seeking top-tier skills for an entry-level rate, with little respect for candidates’ time or professional value. I hope they reflect on how they conduct interviews and approach compensation if they want to attract experienced specialists.
