For this Senior role, I had around 2 preparation rounds with HR, 1 round with someone in the actual team I would end up in, mostly to test my level of English (although I had already passed successfully an online test with progressive difficulty), and then la pièce de résistance was 5 1-hour interviews on the same day, each with different Amazonians, during which I was asked to provide specific examples from my career so far, which would reflect the Amazon leadership principles, while also using the STAR method. This proved to be a very exhausting experience and in my opinion it did in no way reflect my skills and potential of succeeding in this role. When trying to keep it short, my interlocutors would sometimes not fully understand the example I provided (given that we are talking about different industries, it makes sense), and also, when I tried to provide more clarification, I would get the feeling that they got "lost in translation" - also for the same reason. Needless to say that I then received a standard rejection e-mail, despite cimprehensive preparation and me knowing I would have nailed the role.
