We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Category Buyer to manage the procurement of software, IT services, and related technology spend. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring contractual compliance, cost efficiency, and innovation across the assigned category. This position is critical in supporting the company's digital transformation, risk mitigation, and cost optimization goals.

What will you be doing in this role?

Main responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy Development:
    Develop and implement category strategies for software and IT services, aligned with business needs and corporate procurement objectives.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Tender Management:
    Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFIs, RFPs, and contract negotiations, ensuring competitive, compliant, and value-optimized sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier Management:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology and service providers.
  • Contract Management:
    Ensure all agreements are structured with appropriate commercial, legal, and compliance clauses (e.g., DORA, GDPR, SLA terms). Collaborate with Legal and IT Security teams as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and other business units to understand requirements, align sourcing strategies, and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Cost Optimization:
    Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities through contract consolidation, license optimization, demand management, and negotiation.
  • Market Intelligence:
    Stay informed on industry trends, supplier market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and risk mitigation.
  • Risk & Compliance:
    Ensure vendor and contract compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., DORA, ESG, data protection). Participate in audits and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, IT, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in indirect categories such as software, SaaS, cloud services, and IT consulting.
  • Proven track record in category strategy development, complex negotiations, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription), IT services agreements, and service-level management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001) in the context of technology sourcing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba) and Microsoft Office Suite.
