The Opportunity
OpenText ESM SaaS is an analytics-driven enterprise service management solution that combines these key application areas: IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Universal Discovery and CMDB, Cloud Management, and Operations Orchestration.
We are seeking an adaptable software engineer in the ESM group for a role that blends AWS cloud knowledge with software development and the desire to work with our SaaS customers in order to deliver secure, scalable, innovative solutions.
Your Impact
You will play a key role in designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their technical needs and deliver tailored solutions.
What the role offers
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in languages such as Python, Java.
- Monitor and optimize application performance, security, and cost-efficiency in the cloud.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure).
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose functional and performance issues that could involve networking, cloud services, application logic.
- Document solutions and contribute to internal knowledge bases and customer-facing documentation.
- Stay current with AWS services, cloud trends, and emerging technologies.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in software development and cloud engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
- Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work directly with customers or clients in a technical capacity.
