YOUR IMPACT

 

This is a critical role to the success of OpenText’s EMEA team. This position as HR Director will lead the Human Resources function for our Center of Excellence in Romania. This is a unique opportunity to shape the people strategy in a fast-growing, high-impact environment. The role is both strategic and operational, reporting to the Sr. Director HR, Southern Europe, and will lead the local HR team while partnering closely with business and HR leaders across Europe.

The role is accountable for providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to the business leaders on a range of HR matters including: talent retention and development, workforce planning, organizational design, strategic initiatives, leadership development and pipelining and diversity and inclusion. The Director will drive innovative solutions to a variety of business/talent problems and lead the development of new initiatives in support of business talent agenda.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Act as a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, serving as an internal consultant to business leaders.
  • Lead the local HR team to deliver high-quality HR services and ensure compliance with Romanian labor laws and global HR policies.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and regional HR teams to implement consistent and scalable HR processes.
  • Understand business strategy, goals, and talent risks to develop and deliver people strategies that drive performance and growth in alignments with our global strategy.
  • Lead and support cross-functional initiatives, including strategic programs like AI First, to enable business transformation.
  • Facilitate leadership pipeline discussions, including succession planning and gap analysis, to develop future leaders in the country.
  • Drive talent development, employee engagement, and performance management initiatives aligned with OpenText’s broader people agenda.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and regional HR teams to implement consistent and scalable HR processes.
  • Oversee HR operations including workforce planning, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Background in working in Consulting or HR CoE roles (e.g Total Rewards) is a plus
  • Relevant HR certifications, e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CIPD, are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles in multinational environments.
  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading HR teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
