We are looking for an experienced Senior Java/Kotlin Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of robust backend systems. As part of an agile environment, you will leverage your expertise in Kotlin and modern backend technologies to create scalable and high-performing services, ensuring reliability and efficiency for business-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable microservices using Kotlin and Spring Boot
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and high performance of backend systems to support key business functionalities
- Build features to maintain consistency, accuracy, and traceability for critical backend transaction data
- Manage the complete operational lifecycle (DevSecOps), including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call support
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to transform business needs into clear and scalable technical solutions
- Design and refine robust systems for event-driven architectures using tools such as Kafka
- Implement testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, to ensure code quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Java/Kotlin development, with knowledge of Spring Boot and event-driven systems like Kafka
- Strong understanding of asynchronous communication patterns (e.g., Kafka or RabbitMQ)
- Familiarity with Rest API design principles and contract-first API development
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Expertise in writing unit and integration tests using tools like JUnit, Mockk, and Mockito
- Background in observability practices with experience in monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
- Capability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and well-defined user stories
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Nice to have
- Experience working with high-volume, mission-critical systems requiring reliability and scalability under heavy loads
- Knowledge of fault-tolerant designs, including patterns like retries, idempotency, and circuit breakers
- Experience in contract-first REST API development using OpenAPI
- Proficiency in performance testing tools such as Gatling with Kotlin
- Familiarity with running and debugging services in Kubernetes environments
