June 11, 2025, Crișeni, Sălaj: SAT Reabilitare Reciclare, a subsidiary of the STRABAG SE construction group, is inaugurating today the largest and most modern bituminous emulsion production facility in Romania. Located in Crișeni, Sălaj County, the new plant marks an important step in the development of sustainable and efficient infrastructure solutions.
With a production capacity of 15 tons per hour, the plant was established through a direct investment of approximately 2.2 million EUR. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that meets the highest European standards in terms of quality, operational safety, environmental protection, and energy efficiency.
"This investment represents an important step in strengthening our position as a regional leader in road recycling and rehabilitation. It strengthens both our ability to quickly provide modern solutions and our long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation," said Dr. Hans Kirchknopf, SAT Technical Managing Director.
The new production facility will play a key role in improving the performance and sustainability of road infrastructure in Romania and the Central and Eastern European region. By promoting the use of high-quality bituminous emulsions and circular economy principles—such as recovery, recycling, and efficient resource use—SAT Reabilitare Reciclare supports the development of roads that are more sustainable, easier to maintain, and better suited to the demands of modern mobility.
