Lavinia’s Path to Yardi and the Tech World
Q: You’ve been recruiting for 8 years. What has kept you here?
Lavinia: Honestly, it’s the people and the stability, and the learning opportunities. There’s a sense of continuity that’s rare in today’s landscape – a shared intention to build things that last. At the same time, I’ve had space to grow, take on new challenges, and learn from the people around me. This kind of environment has kept me grounded in my work and still curious about what comes next.
Q: What changed for you when you started recruiting for technical roles? What surprised you the most?
Lavinia: When I shifted from being a generalist recruiter to focusing on technical roles, I initially thought I’d have to adapt my language to fit into the tech world. But what surprised me was that my technical colleagues adapted theirs too, and in doing so, challenged the common perception that developers are harder to engage with. We met somewhere in the middle, and that created trust. That was refreshing.
