Your Impact:

As a Proposal Specialist, you will support the EMEA Sales organization by managing and validating software and Cloud deal proposals. You will ensure that all offers comply with OpenText’s internal policies, revenue recognition standards, and legal requirements. Acting as a key liaison between Sales, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders, you will help shape deals, facilitate approvals, and contribute to operational excellence and revenue optimization.

 

What the Role Offers:

  • Act as a project manager for complex medium to large Sales Quotations for on-premise licenses (perpetual and subscription) and Cloud opportunities.
  • Advise Sales teams across EMEA on contractual documentation to ensure accurate revenue accounting and compliance with internal processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day opportunity approval process, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to articulate deal value consistently.
  • Prepare revenue analyses and “what-if” scenarios to support decision-making and maximize profitability.
  • Draft proposals and contracts for software offerings in line with internal guidelines and procedures.
  • Facilitate and follow up on necessary approvals for negotiated offerings.
  • Ensure complete and accurate contract paperwork aligned with revenue recognition and legal terms.
  • Develop and maintain business control processes related to pricing, proposals, and opportunity management.
  • Educate Sales and other internal teams on updates to pricing, policies, and revenue treatments.
  • Serve as a focal point for escalations related to customer-specific pricing, terms, and conditions.

 

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role within an international software company.
  • Strong understanding of software accounting principles and commonly negotiated legal terms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German or French language skills are a strong asset.
  • Solid business acumen and familiarity with internal business processes and policies.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality guidance under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
