Top Employers 2026 | The Most Loved Companies to Apply to in 2027

Energy, insurance, and financial services are emerging as the highest-rated industries among employees.

What makes the difference between an ordinary workplace and one where employees feel valued, trust their employer, and want to stay? Beyond salaries and benefits, the day-to-day employee experience, relationships with management, and opportunities for professional growth are playing an increasingly important role in how employees evaluate their employers. Undelucram.ro Top Employers 2026 reveals how the employee experience is evolving in Romania, the main challenges facing the labor market, and which companies are managing to stand out by creating a work environment that their own employees truly appreciate.

  • Fair management and clear, fair rules set the most highly rated employers apart;

  • The 2026 ranking is based on 120,000 reviews collected between October 16, 2025, and October 15, 2026;

  • Career advancement opportunities show the sharpest decline compared with 2025, while management sets the leaders apart;

  • Energy, insurance, and financial services record the highest average scores;

  • Six companies retain their places in the General Top 10 and improve their scores compared with 2025;

  • Holcim Romania makes a new entry directly into the Top 10;

  • Farmaciile Dona enters the general ranking at No. 11, despite not having ranked in the Top 100 in 2025.

Romania’s labour market is becoming increasingly divided between employers that succeed in improving the employee experience, and companies whose ratings remain stagnant or decline. According to the Top Employers 2026 ranking, launched by Undelucram.ro, Romania’s largest online employee community and one of the leading platforms of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, top-rated employers continue to strengthen their performance, while the employee experience across the wider labour market is not following the same trend.

The findings highlight a growing gap between companies that consistently invest in their relationships with employees and those struggling to maintain employee satisfaction.

“This year’s data reveals an increasingly clear divide between employers that succeed in building a consistent employee experience and the rest of the market. Salary and flexibility remain important, but the findings point to a strong link between an employer’s overall rating, the quality of management, and how rules and values are put into practice. Salary attracts people to a company, but management and culture make them stay and recommend it. A good employer is one that doesn’t force you to choose between fair pay, a good manager, and a future with the company,” says Costin Tudor, CEO of Undelucram.ro.

Career advancement and professional development opportunities represent the main challenge in 2026, with employees expressing lower levels of satisfaction with their career growth prospects. By contrast, management quality and the fair and consistent application of rules remain key factors that set top employers apart.

The ranking is based on approximately 120,000 reviews published by current and former employees, between October 16, 2025, and October 15, 2026.

To compile the Top Employers 2026 ranking, current and former employees who post reviews on Undelucram.ro assess their professional experience based on six criteria: the employer’s overall rating, which accounts for 70% of the final score, and five additional criteria, each weighted at 6%: career advancement opportunities, compensation package, work-life balance, management, and company procedures and values. Each criterion is rated on a scale of 1 to 5, and the final score is calculated as a weighted average of these ratings.

Consistency among top performers and changes in the rankings

Servier Pharma ranks first in the Top Employers 2026 General Top, followed by Schneider Electric Romania in second place and JYSK Romania in third. Six companies have retained their positions in the General Top 10 and improved their scores, compared to the previous year: Servier Pharma, Schneider Electric Romania, JYSK Romania, Deichmann, Teilor, and Bergenbier.

“It is a great pleasure and an honour to take the helm of Servier Pharma Romania, effective October 1st, in a moment when the company has been recognized as the Top Employer of the Year 2026 in the Overall Top category. This award reflects the dedication, professionalism, and trust built by the entire local team. I also see it as a responsibility: to uphold the standards that made this achievement possible, while continuing to transform the company. This recognition is all the more meaningful as Servier will celebrate 35 years of activity in Romania in 2027. We have a duty to become a better version of ourselves year after year: more digital, yet always deeply human, evolving with a clear purpose, to better meet the needs of our patients,” says Léa Rauch, General Manager of Servier Pharma Romania.

In the SME category, STIL DIAMONDS ranks first, followed by Totogaming and Computacenter Romania in the ranking dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises.

“Sustainable performance starts with caring for people, and a strong team is built through collaboration, initiative, accountability, and each colleague’s contribution to shared goals. Being awarded first place in the SME category of the Top Employer of the Year 2026 is an honour, but it also comes with a responsibility to continue fostering an organizational culture in which every colleague feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow, with equal opportunities and genuine prospects for professional development,” says Simona Mănoiu, HR Director at STIL DIAMONDS.

Holcim Romania is one of this year’s new entries, securing ninth place in the General Top 10 on its first appearance. Farmaciile Dona also made significant progress, reaching 11th place in the overall ranking, after not featuring in the Top 100, in 2025.

Career advancement opportunities: the labour market’s biggest weakness in 2026

Compared to 2025, career advancement and professional development opportunities recorded the steepest decline among the criteria assessed for companies included in the year-on-year comparison. Salary satisfaction also declined, while perceptions of company rules and values remained relatively stable.

“This shows that professional development is becoming an increasingly visible challenge. Employees are less satisfied with their career growth prospects, and possible explanations include tighter budgets this year, flatter organizational structures, and fewer projects, all of which have left limited room for promotions,” adds Costin Tudor.

In 2026, salary remains a major source of dissatisfaction, but it is not the only factor distinguishing highly rated employers from the rest. Eight of the companies in the General Top 10 also rank among the employers with the highest employee satisfaction ratings for pay. On the other hand, compensation is the lowest-rated criterion at approximately one-third of the companies analysed. This shows that, while employee satisfaction with pay matters, an employer’s position in the ranking is also shaped by other aspects of the workplace experience.

Management quality and fair rules set top employers apart

Top 10 employers stand out in particular for the quality of their management and the fairness of their working environment. Employees value those companies where the communication with managers is good, rules are clear and consistently applied, and stated values reflect in day-to-day operations. These aspects go hand in hand with higher overall ratings, and distinguish top-ranked employers from the rest of the market.

The findings show that, in employees’ view, a good employer is not one that excels in just one area, but one that has no major weaknesses: fair pay, a good manager, clear rules, career growth prospects, and work-life balance, all at the same time.

“Flexibility has become the market standard. What sets the best employers apart today is the quality of management and whether their stated values are genuinely put into practice every day. Employees are not asking for perfection, they are asking for predictability: to know the criteria against which they are evaluated and to see the same rules applied consistently to everyone,” adds Costin Tudor.

Significant differences across industries

The sector analysis shows that energy, insurance and financial services receive the highest employee ratings, while healthcare, courier services and BPO rank at the other end of the spectrum. Compared to 2025, pharmaceutical retail, energy, and financial services have seen improvements in their ratings, while healthcare, banking, and BPO have recorded declines. These trends show that employee experience is evolving differently across sectors, depending on the specific challenges and conditions of each industry.

Employee experience also varies according to the nature of the work. In IT&C, flexibility is an advantage, but career advancement prospects are more limited. In consulting, professional development often comes with demanding workloads, while weekend work remains a challenge in retail. In healthcare, salaries and career advancement opportunities are among the main sources of dissatisfaction.
